June 2013 ATA Delegates Report

June 2013 ATA Delegate Report

I don't have the words to describe the loss we suffered with the passing of Barb Hermes. She was a great lady. Barb's trapshooting skills are evident by the fact she is a three time Illinois Ladies Singles Champion. She won the Ladies Handicap in 1994 and the Ladies Doubles in 2004. She took way too much pleasure in passing out her famous "beat by a girl" pins. Yes, I have one. Barb also gave back to the sport. Barb and Pat donate the Barbie Award annually. Barb created this award which goes to the high "C" or "D" Class Lady in the State Singles Championship.

We can take solace in the fact that she lived every day to the fullest. Barb knew how to enjoy life. I personally feel Barb's greatest asset (there were many) was her sense of humor. Her smile was infectious. I've heard the statement, "This person lit up every room she entered." Barb actually did just that. Our sincere condolences to Pat and all of Barb's family and friends, we will all miss her.
